My name is Stephanie McGrew

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A fundraiser has been set up for Stephanie McGrew, a South Lake Tahoe resident since 2002, who is facing a medical battle. After she suffered through years of suffering terrible abdominal pain and violent vomiting attacks, neighbors found Stephanie in the fetal position and in agony in her home in January. She was rushed to the hospital in Carson City. After she was stabilized, doctors ran a Gastric Emptying Study, finding Stephanie to have severe Gastroparesis. Her small intestines and stomach had stopped working on their own, leaving her severely dehydrated and malnourished. She had life-saving surgery and is now left with a feeding tube for the rest of her life. After two weeks in the hospital, Stephanie was released but she had Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and was sent back to the hospital, fighting for her life once again. Stephanie is home in South Lake Tahoe with home-health nurses helping her. Her sister Ashley Nicole has set up a Go Fund Me account to help her with rising expenses after not working for the last two months. The added stress of not being able to make ends meet interferes with her focus on recovery and healing. After Ashely set up the fundraiser, Stephanie went back into the hospital and she is now hoping the community can come together to hopefully help. I lost my stomach in January, 2023. I went undiagnosed with gastroparesis for years, even with many trips to the Emergency Room in South Lake Tahoe, Calif. In January an ambulance took me to Carson Tahoe Medical Center in Nevada, where doctors found that my stomach and most of my intestines were no longer working.
I went into surgery, where doctors installed a permanent feeding tube into my abdomen. So I will be feeding myself through a tube for the rest of her life, never to enjoy a meal again. I need financial help while I heal. After I heal, I will go back to work for DoorDash. I am in danger of losing my car and my apartment.
Unfortunately, I came home from the hospital with a MRSA infection. The first antibiotic did not work, so I went back into the hospital for intravenous antibiotics. I am back home now, and I am on my third antibiotic. Please pray for me.

I am a DoorDash worker, and I will be returning to work after my MRSA infection goes away.

...

I am on my third MRSA antibiotic. MRSA is hard to get rid of.

I am in danger of losing my car and my apartment.
